The First Month of School

The First Month of School

There's a very good reason why this post took so long to put up.  I had so many pictures and my class is so stinking' CUTE!!!  In the beginning, we spent most of our time "learning the ropes" of school.
Here we're learning the myriad of rules we have at school, like walking in the hallway with a fish tail behind our backs and bubble in our mouths.   We also practiced raising our hand a LOT!

We also learned the Read-to-Self choice in Daily 5!  Here's a few friends reading the pictures in their books.

We're learning to work together and we're making friends.
Here we're learning how to use the classroom computers for Listen-to-Reading.

And I know this may be a shocker....But WE LOVE TO PLAY IN FREE CENTERS!!!!

And when we thought that kindergarten could not be more fun, there was....
Apple Day!  Oh the joy, oh the yumminess, oh the BEDLAM!  But we had FUN!  We made applesauce and got to taste it.  I think Anaiyah is thinking to herself..."WOW!  This is really good stuff!  I wish there were more!"  Tamia couldn't agree more.

But we couldn't just stop at applesauce.  No way!  We had apples for dipping!  We had ourselves a little taste test.  The cream cheese fruit dip was by far the most popular.  But we liked chocolate too.  Can't you tell?

But there's MORE!  We played games.  YES!  Chase is really having fun here!  He may be having some slight difficulty breathing....but he IS having fun!  Just trust me on this.

And as if we weren't having enough fun...we PAINTED!  You must paint in kindergarten.  It's the RULES!!

To top it off, we shared the fun with our friends down the hall in Mrs. Jones' room!

We EVEN HAD BABIES!!!!!

A special thank you to Riley's mom, Chase's mom, Jenna's mom, and Alex's mom for helping us.  We couldn't have had Apple Day without them!  Hip Hip Hooray for our Terrific Moms!  I think they deserve a Spiderman Cheer......sssssssuper!
 Hector agrees.

Christopher says Apple Day was AWESOME!
So are our kids!  :)

100 Days Smarter!

No sooner had we gobbled down our groundhog snacks, it was the 100th Day of School!  We dressed up like we were 100 years old, made our 100th Day hats out of 10 full ten frames, created 100th Day Snacks with 10 pieces of 10 different snack items, AND created 100th Day projects with our friends and some of our Moms!  Whew!  It was a hectic...but HAPPY HUNDREDTH DAY!!!

A Little Old Zoe
