You Can't Catch Me! I'm the Gingerbread Man!
December’s Christmas fun is now just a fond memory. But we wanted to share all about the fun we had. We began by reading The Gingerbread Man by Jim Aylesworth and The Gingerbread Girl by Lisa Campbell Ernst. The culminating event for our Gingerbread Unit was to make our own gingerbread cookies.
We put them in the oven before we
went outside for recess. But when we returned to retrieve them from the oven, they were GONE! There wasn’t even the tiniest crumb!
BUT…we did find a note!
We looked everywhere… in the school library, the office, the cafeteria, & the art room…to no avail! We could not find those little guys anywhere. We did find what we thought might be tracks and signs in the hallways suggesting that they had come through that way.
Luckily, in the end, we found them in our classroom! Then..we promptly ate them!
